Members

The membership consists of: 

• The Mayor of Crookston
• The Mayor of East Grand Forks
• One County Commissioner
• One member from each Commissioner District
• One member from the Maple Lake Improvement District
• One member from the Polk County Township Officers Association
• One member from the Union-Lake Sarah Development Association

Overview

The Planning Commission is an eleven member board appointed by the Polk County Board of Commissioners. This Commission is responsible for: 

• Reviewing and recommending comprehensive plan amendments and ordinance changes
• Conducting public hearings on: 
  • Conditional use permit applications
  • Interim use permit applications
  • Plats
  • Rezoning requests
• Making recommendations to the County Board of Commissioners
